The quote at the top under the anakin picture is from the Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover. I highly recommend it as it gives a lot more explanation behind why certain things happen.

You're the second person to rec that one to me, it's definitely going on the list. I always felt ROTS was missing something, glad to know that the novelization fills in some holes.

It's truly great and includes a bunch of scenes that were in the original script but cut from the actual movie for one reason or another.

For example Anakin and Padme discussing names for their "child."

Oh man, I bet that's amusing. "No we're not naming him that." "Who says it's going to be a him?" Etc.

I was always disappointed that there wasn't more on-screen buildup of the tension between Obi and Anakin as things started coming apart ... would love to play that out sometime if you're up for it?
